Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of toxic iron content complete nutrient solution application on cold extractable iron and zinc content and Fe / Zn ratio in fresh root in some rice cultivars. 5 different rice varieties were used in the study. These varieties used in the study are Biga İncisi, Osmancık-97, Hamzadere, Ronaldo and Edirne. Complete nutrient solution in the form of iron sulphate heptahydrate, i) 45 μM Fe (sufficient Fe), ii) 3.50 mM Fe (toxic Fe), iii) 3.50 mM Fe (containing 10 % activated bentonite) was applied to the rice varieties grown in sand culture. Fresh roots of rice varieties were extracted with dithionitecitrate-bicarbonate (DSB) solution, and iron and zinc concentrations in this extract were determined in atomic absorption spectrophotometer device. Toxic iron application increased cold extractable iron, zinc content and Fe/Zn ratio in fresh root. Extractable Fe, Zn content and Fe / Zn ratio in fresh roots in bentonite-added medium were found to be lower than in fresh roots of plants grown in bentonite-free medium. Fe and Zn uptake decreased in fresh roots in bentonite-added sand media. Rice varieties grown with the application of a toxic level of iron containing nutrient solution in bentonite-free sand media listed as Osmancık-97 > Ronaldo > Edirne > Hamzadere > Biga İncisi in terms of cold extractable iron content values in fresh roots, while cold extractable zinc content values listed as Osmancık-97 > Hamzadere > Edirne > Biga İncisi ~ Ronaldo. Fe/Zn ratio values in fresh roots of paddy varieties grown with the application of a nutrient solution containing toxic levels of iron in bentonite-free sand environment listed as Ronaldo ~ Edirne > Biga İncisi > Osmancık-97 > Hamzadere. It was determined that the zinc content of Ronaldo and Edirne varieties decreased more than other varieties under iron toxicity conditions.
Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, çeltik çeşitlerinde toksik düzeyde demir içerikli tam besin çözeltisi uygulamasının taze kökte soğuk ekstrakte edilebilir demir ve çinko kapsamı ile Fe/Zn oranına etkisini belirlemektir. Çalışmada 5 farklı çeltik çeşidine kum kültüründe demir sülfat heptahidrat formunda, i) 45 μM Fe (yeterli Fe), ii) 3.50 mM Fe (toksik-Fe), iii) 3.50 mM Fe (% 10 aktive bentonit içerikli kum ortamı) konsantrasyonlarında demir içeren tam besin çözeltisi uygulanmıştır. Bentonitsiz kum ortamında toksik düzeyde demir içeren besin çözeltisi uygulaması ile yetiştirilen çeltik çeşitleri taze kökte soğuk ekstrakte edilebilir demir kapsam değerleri bakımında Osmancık-97 > Ronaldo > Edirne > Hamzadere > Biga incisi şeklinde sıralanmış; soğuk ekstrakte edilebilir çinko kapsam değerleri Osmancık-97 > Hamzadere > Edirne > Biga incisi ~ Ronaldo şeklinde sıralanmış; taze kökte Fe/Zn oran değerleri ise Ronaldo ~ Edirne > Biga incisi > Osmancık-97 > Hamzadere şeklinde sıralanmıştır. Ronaldo ve Edirne çeşitlerinde demir toksikliği ortamında çinko kapsamının daha fazla azaldığı tespit edilmiştir.
