Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the level of adaptation of Turkish language teachers to the Secondary School Turkish Language Curriculum (TCCPC) implemented in 2024 and their opinions regarding this adaptation process. The study was designed according to the explanatory sequential design of mixed methods. In the quantitative phase of the research, 203 Turkish language teachers who worked in 5th grades in public schools during the 2024-2025 academic year participated in the scale application; in the qualitative phase, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 Turkish language teachers. Data were collected using a personal information form, a semi-structured interview form, and the Curriculum Change Adaptation Scale. Quantitative findings showed that the general level of adaptation of Turkish language teachers to the 2024 curriculum was above average; they exhibited high levels of adaptation, especially in the dimensions of information acquisition, cooperation, and change awareness, but the change anxiety dimension remained at a relatively lower level. Qualitative findings indicate that the factors supporting Turkish language teachers' adaptation to the 2024 Middle School Turkish Language Curriculum are centered around pedagogical approach, activity and text selection, functional grammar, measurement and evaluation, the systematic structure of the program, and the balanced presentation of language skills. Conversely, teachers face various challenges in areas such as activity and text selection, content organization, textbook alignment, grammar teaching, measurement and evaluation, in-service training, and technological infrastructure. It was determined that teachers utilized activity adaptations, material support, collaboration, and out-of-school learning environments during the adaptation process; and that their proposed solutions focused on the dimensions of activities, themes, texts, professional development, and technology.

Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkçe öğretmenlerinin 2024 yılında uygulamaya konulan Ortaokul Türkçe Dersi Öğretim Programı’na (OTDÖP)uyum düzeylerini ve bu uyum sürecine ilişkin görüşlerini incelemektir. Çalışma karma yöntem desenlerinden açıklayıcı sıralı desene göre tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel aşamasında 2024–2025 eğitim öğretim yılında resmî okullarda 5. sınıflarda görev yapmış olan203 Türkçe öğretmeni ölçek uygulamasına katılmış; nitel aşamada ise 15 Türkçe öğretmeniyle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada veriler kişisel bilgi formu, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ve Öğretim Programlarındaki Değişime Uyum Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Nicel bulgular, Türkçe öğretmenlerinin 2024 öğretim programına genel uyum düzeylerinin orta düzeyin üzerinde olduğunu; özellikle bilgi edinme, iş birliği ve değişim farkındalığı boyutlarında yüksek düzeyde uyum sergilediklerini ancak değişim endişesi boyutunun görece daha düşük düzeyde kaldığını göstermiştir. Nitel bulgular, Türkçe öğretmenlerinin 2024 Ortaokul Türkçe Dersi Öğretim Programı’na uyum sürecini destekleyen unsurların pedagojik yaklaşım, etkinlik ve metin seçimi, işlevsel dil bilgisi, ölçme ve değerlendirme, programın sistematik yapısı ve dil becerilerinin dengeli sunumu etrafında toplandığını göstermektedir. Buna karşılık öğretmenler etkinlik ve metin seçimi, içerik düzeni, ders kitabı uyumu, dil bilgisi öğretimi, ölçme-değerlendirme, hizmet içi eğitim ve teknolojik altyapı gibi alanlarda çeşitli zorluklar yaşamaktadır. Uyum sürecinde öğretmenlerin etkinlik uyarlamaları, materyal desteği, iş birliği ve okul dışı öğrenme ortamlarından yararlandıkları; çözüm önerilerinin ise etkinlik, tema, metin, mesleki gelişim ve teknoloji boyutlarında yoğunlaştığı belirlenmiştir.
