Abstract

This study aims to determine the significance levels of the criteria to be considered when selecting food suppliers for hospitals during disaster situations. The Fuzzy SWARA approach, a multi-criteria decision-making method that incorporates uncertainty, was employed. In the context of a university hospital, the evaluations of six experts specialized in disaster and food management were used to assess 9 main and 39 sub-criteria. According to the results, “Supplier Capacity and Reliability,” “Food Safety and Quality,” and “Logistics and Distribution Capability” were identified as the most strategically important criteria. In contrast, criteria such as “Technological and Information System Competence” and “Geographical Accessibility” were evaluated as having lower importance. The study provides a systematic and scientific framework for hospital decision-makers in supplier selection processes under disaster scenarios, while also contributing to strategic planning and institutional self-assessment efforts.
