Abstract

The aim of the study is to define the concept of healthy living motivation and to evaluate the individual and environmental factors influencing this motivation. In this conceptual review based on a literature survey, the driving forces behind healthy lifestyle motivation are identified through an examination of the relevant literature. Individual factors examined include personality traits, self-efficacy, health beliefs, body image, perceived benefits, and past experiences, while environmental factors considered are social support, religious beliefs, and the physical environment. The findings reveal that healthy living motivation is significantly influenced by internal factors such as an individual’s personality traits, perceived self-efficacy, and health beliefs, as well as external factors including social environment, religious values, and physical surroundings. The study provides essential insights into understanding and supporting individuals' health behaviors and contributes to enabling health professionals and policymakers to develop more effective and personalized health programs.
