Abstract

The Middle-Income Trap (MIT) refers to the situation in which developing countries reach a certain income level but fail to sustain long-term economic growth. Structural reforms are policy measures implemented to enhance economic efficiency, strengthen institutional mechanisms, and support sustainable growth. This study examines the impact of structural reforms on MIT by analysing data from 57 countries spanning 1995-2022. Using factor analysis and binary logistic regression, the findings indicate that the most influential factors in overcoming MIT are structural reforms related to institutional and social aspects. The results highlight the critical role of structural reforms in avoiding the middle-income trap.
