The purpose of this research is to identify the attitudes of university students in the geography department towards the statistics lessons, and the effects of their school, their gender and the class level on their attitudes. The research has been applied to 764 students. In this research, all data has been collected by the Attitude Scale towards Statistic Lesson, developed by the researchers. Collected data has proved that students have generally positive attitudes towards the statistic lessons and that there are significant differences when schools, gender and class levels are considered.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, yükseköğretim coğrafya bölümü öğrencilerinin istatistik dersine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek, okudukları okulun, cinsiyetin ve sınıf düzeyinin tutumlarına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma, yükseköğretime devam eden 764 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada, veriler araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen İstatistik Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, öğrencilerin İstatistik dersine yönelik tutumlarının genelde olumlu olduğunu, okunulan okul, cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyleri açısından önemli farklar olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.
