Abstract
In this study, we tried to define the phenomenon of disengagement from the perspectives of teachers, school administrators, and other educational administrators. Educators' ideas about the meaning and nature of school disengagement and the causes and consequences of school disengagement were elicited. This research is a fundamental qualitative research model conducted with a qualitative approach. The study group was determined according to the maximum diversity sampling method and consisted of 226 education professionals. In this study, an opinion form developed by the researchers was used. The data were analyzed using the content analysis technique. In the study, the reasons for secondary school students' disengagement from school were stated as family, economic problems, personal problems, academic failure, and withdrawal from school or education. In the research, it was concluded that students' disengagement from school would lead to disruption of social order, low education level of the country, economic problems in the country, and an increase in the tendency of students to commit crimes. The study presented some suggestions regarding educational, psycho-social, systemic, and social dimensions to prevent students from dropping out of school.

Bu çalışmada okuldan kopma olgusu öğretmenler, okul yöneticileri ve diğer eğitim yöneticilerinin gözünden tanımlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Eğitimcilerin okuldan kopmanın anlamı ve doğası, okuldan kopmanın nedenleri ve sonuçları hakkındaki fikirleri açığa çıkarılmıştır. Bu araştırma nitel bir yaklaşımla yürütülen temel nitel araştırma modelindedir. Çalışma grubu, maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme yöntemine göre belirlenmiş ve 226 eğitim çalışanından oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen görüş formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi içerik analizi tekniği ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, ortaöğretim öğrencilerin okuldan kopmalarının sebepleri aile, ekonomik problemler, kişisel problemler, akademik başarısızlık, okuldan veya eğitimden soğuma olarak belirtilmiştir. Araştırmada öğrencilerin okuldan kopmasının toplumsal düzenin bozulmasına, ülkenin eğitim seviyesinin düşük olmasına, ülkede ekonomik sorunlara yol açacağına ve öğrencilerde suça meylin artacağına yönelik sonuçlar doğuracağı gibi sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmada öğrencilerin okuldan kopmasını önlemek için eğitsel, psiko-sosyal, sistemsel ve toplumsal boyutlarda bazı öneriler sunulmuştur.
