Abstract
This study examines the social functions of the Qur’anic courses, in particular their contribution to the socialization of adult female students. In the scope of the study, interviews were conducted with the Qur’anic course instructors and the obtained data were analyzed in the direction of the purposes of the study. The sample of the research is composed of 9 Qur’anic course instructors working in Adapazarı, Serdivan, Erenler and Arifiye counties of Sakarya. Based on the opinions of the instructors, the study concludes that the Qur’anic courses are not perceived by the students as places where they only learn the Qur’an but also as the institutions where they meet their need to socialize.
Özet
Bu çalışma Kur’ân Kursu Öğreticilerinin (KKÖ) görüşlerine dayalı olarak Kur’ân kurslarının, sosyal fonksiyonlarını ve yetişkin kadın öğrencilerin sosyalleş- mesine katkılarını tartışmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında Kur’ân kursu öğreticileri ile mülâkatlar yapılmış, elde edilen veriler çalışma amaçları doğrultusunda analiz edilmiştir. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımına uygun olarak yapılan araştırmanın örneklemini, Sakarya ili Adapazarı, Serdivan, Erenler ve Arifiye ilçelerinde görev yapan 9 Kur’ân Kursu Öğreticisi oluşturmaktadır. Kur’ân Kursu Öğreticileri görüşlerine dayalı olarak elde edilen bulgular Kur’ân kurslarının, öğrenciler tarafından sadece Kur’ân öğrendikleri bir yer olarak algılanmadığını, bunun yanında sosyalleşme ihtiyacını giderdikleri bir kurum olarak görüldüğünü ortaya koymaktadır
