Abstract

With the development of the internet, the use of social media has become widespread. The internet, one of the most important innovations of the 21st century, is used in many areas such as shopping, education, banking and marketing. The COVID-19 pandemic, which started in 2020, has led to closures around the world and increased the impact of the internet and social media. This study examines how tourism guidance students at universities within the scope of ÜNİKOP (Konya Plain Project University Union) use social media as an educational tool. The target group of the research is the tourism guidance undergraduate and graduate students of these universities. The sample consists of 354 students studying at universities in Konya, Aksaray and Nevşehir. According to the results, students' attitudes towards using social media for educational purposes were evaluated in three dimensions: Behavior, Knowledge and Emotion. A high tendency was observed in the Behavior and Knowledge dimensions and a moderate tendency was observed in the Emotion dimension. The results of the research and recommendations are discussed in detail in the relevant section.
