Abstract
This study examines the alignment of culinary education programs under Türkiye’s Türkiye Century Education Model (TYMM) at both secondary and higher education levels, specifically comparing the vocational cookery programs at MEB-affiliated Anatolian High Schools and Eskişehir Vocational School of Higher Education (MYO). The research aims to assess the extent to which the MYO culinary program adheres to TYMM’s principles, which emphasize value-based education, skills development, and interdisciplinary learning, while also focusing on the vertical integration between secondary and higher education. A qualitative research design was adopted, utilizing content analysis of official and academic documents, including curricula and syllabi from both institutions. The findings show a high degree of alignment between the programs, with 90% content overlap. However, discrepancies were identified in certain areas such as value-based education, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary integration. The study concludes that while significant integration of TYMM principles exists, further revisions are needed to fully align the programs, particularly in terms of incorporating more value-driven content and enhancing interdisciplinary approaches. Moreover, the study highlights the need for stronger vertical integration between vocational high schools and higher education institutions to ensure smooth transitions and better educational outcomes. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, curriculum developers, and educational institutions, offering recommendations for improving vertical integration and ensuring the sustainability of TYMM across all educational levels.
