Abstract

This article we deal with the present structure of Europe within the context of discussions on multi-culturalism, its difference from implementation of multiculturalism in USA. By doing this we study the issue in the light of the positions of Muslim immigrant who could not be inregrated in European societies. The struggle of foreigners to obtain cultural recognition and equal rights could not reach its deserved place with regard to Turkish immagrant Muslims. When we take into account the problem of multiculturalism within the context of example of Germany we can easly say that it has no been developed an ideal integration model between local Germans and immegrant people in spite of half a century experience of living together. It seems to us in this problem the isolated positions and patchwork identity of Muslim immigrants can be effecred as well as xenophobic and othering attitude of German society.

Özet

Bu çalışmamızda çokkültürlülük tartışmalarında Avrupa’daki var olan durumu, Kanada ve ABD’ndeki uygulamalardan ayrılan yönünü, özellikle Müslüman göçmenlerin entegre olamayan pozisyonları dolayısıyla sorunsallaştıran konumuyla birlikte ele almaya çalıştık. Almanya’daki yabancıların kültürel tanınma ve eşit haklar mücadelesi, Müslüman Türkler söz konusu olduğunda henüz hak ettiği yere gelebilmiş değildir. Çokkültürlülük sorununa Almanya örneğinde yaklaşıldığında, yarım asra yaklaşan bir arada yaşama deneyimine rağmen, yerli halklarla göçmenler arasında ideal entegrasyon modeli geliştirilememiştir. Bunda Alman toplumunun yabancı düşmanı, ötekileştirici yaklaşımı kadar, Müslüman göçmenlerin geliştirilemeyen, tecrit edilmiş pozisyonları ve parçalı kimliksel görünümü de etken olmaktadır.
