Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to exhibit how potentially the primary school students gained democratic habit and acquisition through newprepared social studies curriculum. The democratic attitudes of the students are tried to investigate in terms of many variable and output data evaluated on SPSS 16.00 program in the research. In the study, a pre-scale was prepared of investigating the attitudes of students and the scale has totally 25 item on it. Reliability coefficient (Chronbach alfa) of the pre-scale, which was prepared through expert opinions and applied to 62 students, is determined 0,86. The survey which has a high reliability coefficient was accepted final scale without chancing any of its items and applied 126 second-degree primary students. According to the final findings of the study, the democratic attitudes of primary school students’ diversed by their gender and average of monthly revenue. Apart from that, it is not determined a meaningful diversity between educational backgrounds of parents and sibling numbers of the students versus democratic attitudes.

Araştırmanın amacı, hazırlanan yeni sosyal bilgiler müfredat programıdoğrultusunda ilköğretim öğrencilerinin demokratik alışkanlıkları ve kazanımları ne derece edindiklerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada öğrencilerin demokratik tutumları çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmeye çalışılmış ve çıkansonuçlar SPSS 16.00 programında değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada öğrencilerintutumlarını ölçmek amacıyla bir ön ölçek hazırlanmış ve bu ölçekte toplam 25madde yer almıştır. Uzmanların görüşleri doğrultusunda hazırlanan ve 62öğrenciye uygulanan ön uygulama ölçeğinin güvenirlik katsayısı (cronbachalfa) .86 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Güvenirlik katsayısı oldukça yüksek çıkananketin, hiçbir maddesi değiştirilmeden nihai ölçek olarak kabul edilmiş ve toplam 126 ilköğretim 2.kademe öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonundaelde edilen bulgulara göre; ilköğretim öğrencilerinin demokratik tutumları cinsiyete ve öğrenci ailelerinin aylık ortalama gelirlerine göre bir farklılaşma göstermiştir. Bunun dışında öğrencilerin anne ve babalarının eğitim durumları,öğrencilerin sahip oldukları kardeş sayıları ile demokratik tutumları arasındaanlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmemiştir
