Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to determine the metaphorical perceptions of prospective special education teachers about artificial intelligence technology. The research was carried out using phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research methods. The participant group consists of 149 pre-service teachers who are studying at Anadolu University Faculty of Education, Special Education Teacher Education programme and who volunteered to participate in the study. The data of the study were collected online and face-to-face through forms prepared by the researcher. The collected data were analysed by content analysis method. As a result of the analysis, 94 different metaphors obtained from 149 pre-service teachers were grouped into six categories, taking into account their reasoned explanations. The findings show that the majority of pre-service special education teachers' perceptions of artificial intelligence technology are positive.
