Abstract
\r\n The aim of this paper is to investigate the asymmetric effects of positive and negative monetary policy shocks on output and prices in Turkish economy for the period of 1990-2006. Using two-step OLS method, it is found that the negative shocks have grater effects on output and prices than positive shocks. This result supports the view of demand side asymmetry.\r\n

\r\n Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye ekonomisinde 1990–2006 döneminde pozitif ve negatif para politikası şoklarının, çıktı ve fiyatlar üzerindeki asimetrik etkilerini incelemektir. Çalışmada iki aşamalı OLS yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Negatif şokların, çıktı ve fiyatlar üzerinde pozitif şoklara göre daha güçlü etkileri olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuç, talep yönlü asimetri görüşünü desteklemektedir.\r\n
