Abstract
Tour Guides Chambers are affiliated with the Association of Tour Guides Chambers (TUREB), and in Turkey, there are a total of 13 chambers, including 7 professional chambers and 6 regional chambers. Professional chambers are responsible for facilitating the professional development of their members, as one of the requirements of their establishment. The aim of this study is to examine the contributions of tour guides chambers to the professional, social and personal development of tour guides. For this purpose, the study employed qualitative research methods, using the semi-structured interview technique and document review method, and the collected data were analyzed through content analysis. The population of the study consists of 13 professional organizations operating throughout Turkey, comprising 7 professional chambers and 6 regional chambers. The study sample consisted of five professional chambers. In all chambers, seminars, conferences, and interviews were the most common activities. Conclusions and recommendations were developed in line with the findings obtained.

Turist rehberliği meslek odaları, Turist Rehberleri Odaları Birliği’ne (TUREB) bağlıdır ve Türkiye’de 7 meslek odası ile 6 bölgesel meslek odası olmak üzere toplamda 13 oda bulunmaktadır. Meslek odaları, kuruluş gereklerinden biri olarak üyelerinin mesleki gelişimlerine olanak sağlamakla görevlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı turist rehberliği meslek odalarının turist rehberlerinin mesleki, sosyal ve kişisel gelişimine sağladığı katkıların incelenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği ile doküman inceleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini TUREB’e bağlı 7 meslek odası ile 6 bölgesel meslek odası olmak üzere tüm Türkiye genelinde örgütlenmiş ulusal düzeyde faaliyet gösteren 13 meslek kuruluşu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise 5 meslek odası oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda tüm odalarda seminer, konferans, söyleşi gibi bilgilendirmeye yönelik etkinlikler, en yaygın düzenlenen faaliyetler olarak öne çıkmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda sonuç ve öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
