Özet

Bu çalışmada, Afyonkarahisar il merkezinde bulunan 5 yıldızlı termal otel işletmelerinin fiziksel ve yönetsel koşullarının ortopedik engelli bireylere uygunluğunu analiz etmek ve elde edilen bulguları, bir farkındalık oluşturabilmek için konuyla ilgili taraflar ile paylaşmak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemleri ile bu yöntemlere uygun olan analiz türleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın evrenini Afyonkarahisar ilinde faaliyet gösteren 5 yıldızlı termal konaklama işletmelerinin yöneticileri, çalışanları ve seyahat acenteleri oluşturmaktadır. Sonuç olarak araştırmada engellilere yönelik otellerin fiziksel koşulları ölçülmüştür. Otellerin bir kısmı yasal yükümlülükleri gereği engellilerin kullanımına uygun birtakım düzenlemelerin yaptıkları görülmüştür. Bu çalışmanın, niteliği itibariyle bir sosyal sorumluluk boyutu bulunmakla beraber son yıllarda engelli turizmine yönelik yapılan araştırmalara da katkı sunması hedeflenmiştir.

Abstract

This study, it is aimed to analyze the suitability of the physical and managerial conditions of the 5-star thermal hotel businesses in Afyonkarahisar city center for orthopedically disabled individuals and to share them with the relevant parties in order to raise awareness of the findings. In the study, quantitative and qualitative research methods and analysis types suitable for these methods were used. The universe of the study consists of managers, employees and travel agencies of 5-star thermal accommodation enterprises operating in Afyonkarahisar province. As a result, the physical conditions of the hotels for the disabled were measured in the results obtained in the research. It has been observed that some of the hotels have made some arrangements suitable for the use of the disabled due to their legal obligations. Although this study has a social responsibility dimension in terms of its nature, it is aimed to contribute to the researches on disabled tourism in recent years.
