Effects Of Creative Drama Method On Students Academic Achievements In Ict Lessons Of Sixth Grades

Özet

Bu araştırmada yaratıcı drama yönteminin Bilişim Teknolojileri ve Yazılım (BTY) dersini alan 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarına ve yönteme ilişkin öğrenci görüşlerine etkisini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin bir arada kullanıldığı araştırmada nitel veriler öğrenci günlükleri, nicel veriler ise İletişim Araçları Başarı Testi (İABT) yoluyla elde edilmiştir. Yaratıcı drama yönteminin BTY dersini alan öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına etkisini belirlemek üzere kullanılan İABT 25 sorudan oluşmaktadır. Deney grubunun BTY derslerinde kullanılmak üzere yaratıcı drama etkinlikleri kurgulanmış ve üç farklı uzmanın görüşüne başvurulmuştur. Çalışmada nicel veriler t testiyle, nitel veriler içerik analizi tekniğiyle analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular BTY derslerinde kullanılan yaratıcı drama yönteminin, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına önemli bir etkisinin olduğunu göstermektedir. Öğrenci günlüklerinden elde edilen nitel veriler, yaşantıya dayalı bir öğrenme süreci olan yaratıcı drama yönteminin; kazanımların gerçekleşmesinde, öğrencilerin kendilerini ifade etmelerinde, teknolojiyi, interneti ve sosyal medyayı öğrenmelerinde ve bu teknolojileri gerçek yaşamlarında bilinçli bir biçimde kullanmalarında etkili olduğunu göstermektedir.

Abstract

In this research, it is aimed to determine the effect of creative drama method on the academic achievements and the views on the method of the sixth grade students taking ICT lesson. In the research, the qualitative and quantitative research methods were used together. The qualitative data was collected through student diaries and the quantitative data was collected through The Communication Tools Achievement Test (CTAT). CTAT was used to determine the effects of creative drama method on students' academic achievement in ICT lessons. The test has got 25 questions. Creative drama activities were prepared to be used in ICT lessons of the experimental group. It was consulted to three different experts in the creative drama field for the activities. In the study, the mixed method was used to collect qualitative and quantitative data by the researcher. The quantitative data was analyzed with t-test and the qualitative data was analyzed with content analysis technique. The findings in the study show that the creative drama method used in the ICT lessons has a significant effect on the academic achievement of the students. The qualitative data obtained through the student diaries show that the creative drama method, a learning process based on life, is effective on obtaining objectives, on the expressing themselves of the students, on the learning of technology, internet and social media of the students, and on the consciously use of these technologies of the students in their real life.
