Özet

3-6 yaş okulöncesi dönem çocuğu olan anne-babaların, çocukların cinsel eğitimine yönelik görüşlerini belirlemeyi amaçlayan bu çalışma 2016-2017 eğitim ve öğretim yılında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın örneklemini KKTC’de çocukları okul öncesi eğitime devam eden 293 anne ve 107 baba oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen, soru formu ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgularda ise; ebeveynlerin çocukların doğru bilgilenmesi ve istismardan korunmaları için cinsel eğitimi gerekli gördükleri fakat çocuklarıyla cinsel konularda yeterince konuşma yapmadıkları, konuşma yapan ebeveynlerin genel olarak kendilerini huzursuz ve yetersiz hissettikleri belirlenmiştir.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the opinions of parents who have 3-6 years old children about the necessity of sexual education in early childhood years. The study was carried during 2016-2017 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 293 mothers and 107 fathers from Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRCN) with children that are students at state and private pre-school institutions. The data were collected by a questionnaire form developed by the researchers. The results of the study demonstrate that; the majority of the parent’s evaluated sexual education as necessary for children to support development and protect themselves from sexual abuse although parents did not talk with their children about sexual issues, parents that had spoken felt uncomfortable and inadequate..
