Çocuklar için Matematiği Sevme Ölçeği ’nin (ÇMSÖ) Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

Özet

Bu araştırma ‘okulöncesi dönem çocuklarına sunulan matematik içeriğini sevme durumlarını araştırmak için geliştirilen ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Kahramanmaraş Onikişubat ilçesinde resmi bağımsız anaokullarında ve ilkokul/ortaokul bünyesinde eğitim alan 54-66 ay aralığında toplam 700 çocuk oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın amacına ulaşabilmek için ‘Çocuklar için Matematiği Sevme Ölçeği (ÇMSÖ)’ geliştirilmiştir. Ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirlik hesaplamaları için SPSS 22 ve MPLUS 7 programlarından yararlanılmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirliğini hesaplamak için test tekrar test yöntemi uygulanmış ve İç tutarlılık katsayısı (Cronbach Alpha) hesaplanmıştır. Test-Tekrar Test Korelasyon Güvenilirlik Katsayısı 0.88 ve İç tutarlılık katsayısı (Cronbach Alpha) esas uygulama için 0.75 olarak bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin geçerliğini hesaplamak için kapsam ve yapı geçerliliğine bakılmış; açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri yapılmıştır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda ölçeğin tek faktörlü olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ön uygulama için I. uygulamada ölçeğin toplam varyansın %53.4’ünü; II. uygulamada ise ölçeğin toplam varyansın %48.8'ini açıklandığı görülmüş; faktör yük değeri 0.30’un altında olan hiçbir madde bulunmamıştır. Esas uygulamada ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini test etmek için doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmış model uyum indeksleri incelendiğinde modelin kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Yapılan analizler ‘Çocuklar için Matematiği Sevme Ölçeği (ÇMSÖ)’nin 54-66 aylık çocuklar için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the preschool childrens’ liking of mathematics contents and determine validity and reliability of the scale. Target population of the study constitutes a total of 700 children between 54-66 month-old group and receive education in formalindependent kindergartens and in nursery classes of elementary/secondary schools in Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş. The “Mathematics Liking Scale for Children” was developed in order to achieve the purpose of the study. SPSS 22 and MPLUS 7 programs were used for the validity and reliability calculations of the scale. Test-retest method correlation reliability co-efficient was examined and internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach Alpha) was calculated in order to calculate the reliability of the scale. Test-retest correlation reliability co-efficient was 0.88 for the whole scale and Internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach Alpha) was found 0.75 for the main application. For content and construct validity of the scale, scope and construct validity were examined; exploratory and confirmatory factor analyzes were performed. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, the scale was determined as single factor; it was found that the 1st application(pre-test) accounted for 53.4% of the total variance in the scale; and the 2nd Application (post-test) accounted for 48.8% of the total variance. When the factor loads of each relevant item were examined, no item with a factor load value of less than 0.30 was found. For the main application, in order to test the construct validity of the scale, confirmatory factor analysis was performed. When the goodness of fit index of the model was examined for the main application, the results showed that the model was at an acceptable level. According to analyses , it is revealed that “The Mathematics Liking Scale for Children” is valid and reliable instrument for children between 54-66 month-old group.
