Abstract

This study comprises of introduction and two other parts. In the introduction part, the contributions of reduplications, which are from the elements providing the harmony in poetry, to meaning and harmony, have been mentioned. In the first part, the emphasis has been put on the vocal and speech order that reduplications make up in Bâkî’s poetry who is one of the greatest poets of Ottoman Poetry. It has been observed that in Bâkî’s poetry the technique of using reduplications is conscious and constant and the Poet has made this a style feature. In the second part the vocal orders and speech orders that reduplications have made by repeating the same word in “terkîb-i tekerrürî” (repeated composition) style, are shown in tables. That Bâkî has used reduplications so much in his poetry, which are a kind of vocal, speech and meaning repetition, is an important expression feature both in terms of the language and literature.
