Doğankent Sağlık, Eğitim, Araştırma Bölgesi, Karataş ilçesi, Yemişli Köyü'nde Adana, Karataş İlçesi, Yemişli Köyü'nde Tip-II-DM (NIDDM) prevalansını ve risk faktörlerini saptamak amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmaya 15 yaş ve üzeri 320 kişiden köyde doğup büyüyen 268 (%83.7) kişi dahil edildi. Öykü, açlık kan şekeri (AKS), oral glukoz tolerans testi sonuçlarına göre, 17 (%34.0)'si erkek, 33 (%66.0)'ü kadın, toplam 50 kişi DM tanısı alarak bölgede NIDDM prevalansı %18.7 bulundu. Abstract
This study performed in Yemişli Village, Karataş District, Adana to determine the prevalence and risk factors of Type II diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM) comprised 268 (83.7%) natives among 320 people aged 15 years old and older. A total of 50 people had the diagnosis of DM based on history, fasting blood sugar (FBS), oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) among them 17 (34.0%), 33 (66.0%) were males and females, respectively.
