Özet

Bu araştırmada, matematik konusunda biri oldukça başarılı diğeri ise düşük başarılı olan iki altıncı sınıf öğrencisinin koordinat sistemini soyutlama süreci incelenmiştir. İki farklı uygulama problemi RBC+C modelinin kapsadığı dört farklı bilişsel eylemi (tanıma, kullanma, oluşturma ve pekiştirme) ortaya çıkaracak tarzda hazırlanmış ve bu iki öğrencinin oluşturduğu öğrenci grubunda uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizi esnasında uygulamalarda kullanılan çalışma kâğıtları ile kaydedilen video kayıtları incelenmiştir. Yapılan incelemeler sonucunda, öğrencilerin koordinat sistemini oluşturmaları için gerekli ön bilgilerin bir kısmını tanıyıp kullanabildikleri anlaşılmış fakat yatay ve dikey eksen bilgisini oluşturmakla birlikte tanıyıp kullanmada zorlukları olduğu görülmüştür. Bu nedenle, bu öğrencilerin koordinat sistemini oluşturabilmelerini sağlayacak yeni uygulamalara ihtiyaç bulunmaktadır.

Abstract

The abstraction process of the coordinate system by two sixth grade students, one of whom has a high level and the other has a low level of success in mathematics, has been examined in this research. Two research problems were prepared in a form to allow the distinguishing of four different cognitive actions of the RBC+C model, which are recognizing, building-with, construction and consolidation, and the research problems were applied to the group including two students participated in the research. The written documents and the video recordings of the research were examined for the analysis. As a result of the analysis, it has been understood that the students could recognize some of the preliminary information, which is required for the students in order to construct the coordinate system, but they had some difficulties about horizontal and vertical axis information. Therefore, new applications are needed to allow the students to be able to construct the coordinate system.
