ERZURUM KALELERİNDE KULLANILAN KİKLOPİK DUVAR TEKNİĞİ /Cyclopean Wall Technique Used in Erzurum Castles

Özet

Erzurum Bölgesi bulunduğu konum itibariyle tarih boyunca birçokmedeniyetin uğrak noktası olmuştur. Bu medeniyetlerden günümüze kadarulaşabilen çok sayıda kalıntı bulunmaktadır. Bu kalıntıların belki de en öne çıkanımimari yapılardır. Erzurum Bölgesi tarihi bir geçiş güzergâhı olduğu için yapılarınbüyük bir kısmını da savunma amaçlı inşa edilen kaleler oluşturmaktadır. Ancak buyapıların özellikle inşası uzun ve zahmetli bir çabanın sonucudur. Bu nedenlekullanılan malzeme ile örgü yöntemleri dönemsel ve bölgesel farklılıklargöstermektedir. Konumuzu oluşturan kiklopik yöntem ise çalışma bölgemiz içinDemir Çağı’nda tercih edilen bir inşa yöntemidir. Daha az sayıda malzemeyledayanıklı bir savunma unsuru oluşturulabilen bu örgü sisteminde büyük taşlar,herhangi bir birleştirme elemanı olmadan bir araya getirilmektedir. ÇalışmamızdaDemir Çağı ile özdeşleşmiş olan bu örgü türünün Erzurum Bölgesindeki uygulamaörneklerini ve çevresel farklılıkları ele almaya çalıştık.
