Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı spor işletmelerinde çalışanların çatışma yönetim yaklaşımlarının incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul’ da 4 farklı özel spor işletmesinde çalışan toplam 142 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılara demografik bilgiler sorulmuştur. Ayrıca, Rahim (1983)’ in geliştirdiği, Gümüşeli (1994)’ nin Türkçe’ ye uyarladığı Örgütsel Çatışma Envanteri kullanılmıştır.

Abstract

The study aims to determine conflict management approaches of employees of sports facilities. Descriptive and relational screening model, which is a quantitative research method, was used in this study. Study sample consisted of 142 people working in 4 private sports facilities in Istanbul. Data were collected asking participants’ questions about their demographics and using the Organizational Conflict Inventory developed by Rahim (1983) and adapted to the Turkish language by Gümüşeli (1994). It is a 5-point Likert-type scale consisting of 28 items and 5 sub-scales; integrating, making concession, dominating, compromising and avoiding. Percentage (%) and frequency (f) methods, and the Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test were used. According to resulst there is a statistically significant difference in integrating between men and women in favor of the latter. Women working in sports facilities have a better conflict management approach than men. Participants’ dominating sub-scale mean score was the lowest, which might be due to the fact that the place where the research was conducted was a sports facility. Engaging in sports has a positive effect on work. This can be regarded as an indication that fair play, which is one of the most important concepts in sport, has been adopted by people from all walks of life engaging in sports.
