Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, okul öncesi çocuklarda penisiline dirençli Streptococcus pneumoniae taşıyıcılığını saptamak idi. Ankara'da beş farklı kreşe giden 285 çocuktan orofaringeal sürüntü örnekleri alınmış, kültür sonucu bunların 62'sinde (% 21.7) S.pneumoniae kolonizasyonu saptanmıştır. Bu izolatların 17'si (% 27.4) tarama yöntemi ile oksasiline dirençli bulunmuştur. Oksasiline dirençli izolatların penisilin MİK değerleri E-test ile araştırılmıştır. Oksasiline dirençli olan izolatların tümü, MİK değerlerine göre penisiline orta derece dirençli bulunmuştur. Penisiline tam direnç saptanmamıştır.
Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine for the oropharyngeal carriage of penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae in pre-school children. Oropharyngeal swabs were taken from 285 children attending five different day care centers in Ankara, Cultures showed S.pneumoniae colonization in 62 (21.7 %) of 285 children. Seventeen (27.4 %) of these isolates were found resistant to oxacillin by the screening method. Penicillin MIC values of oxacillin resistant isolates were detected with E-test. According to penicillin MIC values, all of the oxacillin resistant isolates (27.4 %) were found intermediately resistant to penicillin. Complete resistance to penicillin was not encountered.
