THE EXPECTATIONS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS FROM EDUCATION SUPERVISORS

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to define the expectations of elementary school principals from education supervisors during supervision period. Since the purpose of the research is appropriate to be realized qualitative research method has been used. The study group of the research is consisted of thirty principals chosen with maximum variety method. The data has been collected using semi-structured interview form and has been analyzed with content analysis method. After the analysis, the expectations of the principals were collected under eleven themes. According to obtained data, it has been found out that principals wanted the education supervisors to display supervising behaviors appropriate to the human relations. It has also been found that principals found the education supervisors insufficient on communication, guidance, persistence, to be democratic, contingency, expediency, self-development, effectuality, consistency, awarding and research fields.
Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim okulu müdürlerinin denetim sürecinde eğitim müfettişlerinden beklentilerinin neler olduğunu belirlemektir. Araştırmada amacı gerçekleştirmeye uygun olduğu için nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu maksimum çeşitlilik yöntemi ile seçilen otuz ilköğretim okulu müdürü oluşturmaktadır. Okul müdürlerinin beklentileri on bir temada bütünleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, okul müdürlerinin eğitim müfettişlerinden insan ilişkileri yaklaşımına uygun denetim davranışı sergilemelerini bekledikleri, iletişim, rehberlik, süreklilik, demokratiklik, durumsallık, amaca uygunluk, kendini geliştirme, etkililik, tutarlılık, ödüllendirme ve araştırmacılık alanlarında eğitim müfettişlerini yetersiz gördükleri ve denetim yapısındaki bilimsel yönetim anlayışına yer veren uygulamaların değiştirilmesini istedikleri ortaya çıkmıştır.
