A DISCUSSION OF THE INTERIOR DESIGN OF MILITARY SUBMARINES IN THE SCOPE OF ERGONOMICS

Abstract

İnterior design deals with the construction of any volume that is limited in the infinite space and that interacts with the user. The main purpose of the interior design is to arrange the volume in a way that allows users to use them in the most efficient way. However, several requirements in the interior design and their outcomes vary. Aside from the functional difference, this variability is due to the needs and priorities that need to be met in a limited volume. This "limited space design" requirement applies to all mobile venue-structure types. This requirement was considered as a design problem and military submarines, where a large number of crew members had to live together for a long time, were chosen as the subject of study. The insufficiency of the studies related to the interior design of military vehicles and the need to make a contribution to this field were influential in this choice. In this study, all military submarines were kept within the scope of the study, regardless of class, and interior design approaches were examined within the scope of ergonomics principles.

Özet

Mekan tasarımı, uzayın sonsuz boşluğu içerisinde sınırlandırılan ve kullanıcı ile etkileşim halinde olan her türlü hacmin kurgulanması ile ilgilenir. Bu hacimlerin, kullanıcıların en verimli şekilde kullanımına imkan verecek şekilde düzenlenmesi mekan tasarımının temel amacını oluşturur. Ancak iç mekan tasarımındaki farklı gereksinimler ve buna göre şekillenen kazanımlar değişkenlik göstermektedir. Bu değişkenlik işlevsel farklılığın dışında, sınırlı hacimde çözülmesi gereken ihtiyaçlar ve öncelikler nedeniyle ortaya çıkmaktadır. Mobil mekan-yapı türlerinin hepsi için bu “sınırlı alanda tasarım” zorunluluğu geçerlidir. Bu zorunluluk bir tasarım sorunsalı olarak görülmüş ve çok sayıda mürettebatın uzun süre boyunca birlikte yaşamak zorunda olduğu askeri denizaltılar inceleme konusu olarak seçilmiştir. Bu seçimde askeri araçların iç mekan tasarımları ile ilgili çalışmaların azlığı ve bu alana dikkat çekme ihtiyacı duyulması da etkili olmuştur. Bu çalışmada sınıf ve yıl farkı gözetmeksizin bütün askeri denizaltılar kapsam dahilinde tutulmuş, iç mekan tasarım yaklaşımları ergonomi ilkeleri temel alınarak yorumlanmıştır.
