Bu araştırma, durum çalışması deseninde, nitel bir çalışmadır. Bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim döneminde Ferit Melen Ortaokulundan 50, Hacıbekir Ortaokulundan 31, Zeve Ortaokulundan 29, Ahmet Yesevi Ortaokulundan 13, Hasan Ali Yücel Ortaokulundan 22 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama yöntemi olarak görüşme yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Öğrencilerle yapılan görüşmeler sonucu elde edilen veriler, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde: öğrencilerin kendileri gibi düşünmeyen insanlara hoşgörüyle yaklaştıkları; kendilerini farklı özelliklere sahip insanların yerine koydukları; toplumda diğer insanlarla uyum içinde yaşayabilmek için insanlara saygı duymanın önemli olduğu; çevrelerinde farklı etnik ve mezhepsel bağlılıklara sahip insanlarla yaşamak isteyenler, bu halkların yaşam biçimlerinden, ibadetlerinden ve geleneklerinden öğrenilecek pek çok şey olduğu fikrini paylaştıkları; farklı etnik, dini ve mezhepsel aidiyetlere sahip insanlarla yaşamak istemeyenlerin de gerekçe olarak farklılıkların, toplumsal sorunlara neden olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

This is a qualitative study in the case study pattern. The study group of this research consists of 50 students from Ferit Melen Middle School, 31 students from Hacıbekir Middle School, 29 students from Zeve Middle School, 13 students from Ahmet Yesevi Middle School and 22 students from Hasan Ali Yücel Middle School in 2017-2018 education period. In the study interview method was used as data collection. The data obtained as a result of interviews with students were analyzed by applying content analysis method. When the result of the research is evaluated generally, it is concluded that students show leniency towards those who do not think like them; they put themselves in the shoes of people who have different characteristics; it is important to respect people in order to live in harmony with other people in society; those who want to live with people who have different ethnicity and sectarian affiliations in their surroundings share the idea that there a lot of things to be learned from the way of life, worship and customs of these people; those who don’t want to live with people who have different ethnic, religious and sectarian affiliations allege as a pretext that the differences lead to social problems.
