A STUDY ON THE ATTITUDES OF IMAM HATIP SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS’ ATTITUDES TOWARDS PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES

İMAM HATİP ORTAOKULLARINDAKİ ÖĞRENCİLERİN BEDEN EĞİTİMİ VE SPOR DERSİNE İLİŞKİN TUTUMLARININ ARAŞTIRILMASI

Abstract

This study was conducted in order to find out the attitudes of imam hatip secondary school students’ attitudes towards physical education and sports classes comparing them with students attending to ordinary secondary schools. In order to reach the findings, secondary school students of 6th and 7th grades attending to imam hatip and ordinary schools in Bartın district were scanned using descriptive and relational survey method. In total 860 students of 6th and 7th graders were included in this research. For data collection, a Likert-type questionnaire which was composed of two parts; basic demographic information and “The Physical Education Classes Attitude Scale” which was developed by Güllü and Güçlü (2009), was applied to the students. After eliminating the 29thquestion of the scale with the suggestion of an expert, the coefficient of consistence, Cronbach Alfa was calculated as 0,89. Total-item correlation was found between 0,43 and 0,65. Therefore the reliability and validity of this scale has been reconfirmed and applied. As a result of the study the attitudes of secondary school students towards physical education classes were found higher then imam hatip school students’ attitudes. There was also a meaningful difference found between the attitudes of ordinary secondary school and imam hatip school students towards physical education classes in terms of gender and grade variables

Özet

Bu araştırmada "betimleyici, ilişkisel tarama (survey)" modeli kullanılarak imam hatip ortaokulları ile ortaokullar karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim sezonunda Bartın merkezde bulunan ortaokulların 6. ve 7. Sınıflarında öğrenim gören 9550 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi ise 4 imam hatip ortaokulu ile merkezde bulunan 3 ortaokul olmak üzere 7 ortaokul öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Toplamda araştırmaya 6 ve 7. sınıf öğrencilerinden 860 katılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak, iki bölümden oluşan Likert tipi ölçek kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin birinci bölümünde araştırmacı tarafından yaş ve cinsiyet ikinci bölümde ise öğrenci tutumlarının ölçülmesi için; Güllü ve Güçlü(2009) tarafından geliştirilen "Beden Eğitimi Dersi Tutum Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin 29. maddesi uzman görüşü alınarak çıkarıldıktan sonra tutarlılık katsayısı olan Cronbach Alfa 0,89 olarak bulunmuştur. Yeniden Madde analizi yapılarak, madde-toplam kolerasyon yöntemiyle madde kolerasyonları 0,43 ile 0,65 arasında şekillenmiştir. Böylelikle ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirliği tekrardan sağlanarak uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda ortaokulların, imam hatip ortaokullarına göre beden eğitimi ve spor dersine ilişkin tutumları daha yüksek çıkmıştır. Ortaokulların beden eğitimi ve spor dersine cinsiyet ve sınıf değişkenine göre tutumları, imam hatip ortaokullarına göre daha yüksek çıkarak, anlamlı farklılık olduğu görülmüştür. Elde edilen bu sonuçlar derinlemesine tartışılıp yorumlanmıştır
