Teacher Training in Turkish Educational System from Past to Present

Abstract
21st century, in parallel with the developments in science and technology, has brought along many developments in social life; and has required competitive, qualified human force that develops and shares information, and internalizes democratic values. To train qualified person requires a qualified education. A qualified education is undoubtedly possible with qualified teachers. Therefore, in accordance with changing needs, teaching profession, its importance, its qualifications, and its roles are the most fundamental educational topics in each society. Thus, teacher training has become the prior problem area to be solved in our educational system and continues to be like so. In this study which is a descriptive survey, we study the topic of teacher training in Turkey, present the current application problems of teacher training by regarding the process of teacher training which has become a problem of our educational system and suggest solution offers. For this purpose, "our teacher training has been the practice in the past to present what?" Question was answered. Taking into account the findings on reviews, analysis made and then present problems in teacher training practices were explained and presented a set of recommendations for both qualitative and quantitative.

21. yüzyıl, bilim ve teknolojide yaşanan gelişmelere paralel olarak toplumsal yaşamda da birçok gelişmeyi beraberinde getirmiş; toplumsal süreklilik için bilgiyi üreten, paylaşan, rekabet edebilen ve demokratik değerleri içselleştiren nitelikli insan gücünü zorunlu kılmıştır. Nitelikli insan yetiştirmek nitelikli bir eğitimi gerektirmektedir. Nitelikli eğitim hiç şüphesiz nitelikli öğretmenle mümkündür. Bu nedenle değişen ihtiyaçlar doğrultusunda öğretmenlik mesleği, önemi, yeterlikleri ve rolleri her toplumda güncelliğini koruyan en temel eğitim konularıdır. Öğretmen yetiştirme bu nedenle eğitim sistemimizin en öncelikli çözüm bekleyen sorun alanlarından birisi olmuştur ve olmaya devam etmektedir. Betimsel tarama niteliğindeki bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de öğretmen yetiştirme konusu incelenmiş, eğitim sistemimizin bir sorunsalı haline gelen öğretmen yetiştirme sürecine tarihsel gelişimi içerisinde bakılarak bu günkü öğretmen yetiştirme uygulamalarımızın sorunları ortaya konmuş ve çözüm önerileri geliştirilmiştir. Bu amaçla “Öğretmen yetiştirme uygulamalarında geçmişten günümüze neler olmuştur?” sorusu cevaplandırılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular dikkate alınarak yorumlar, analizler yapılmış ve daha sonra günümüz öğretmen yetiştirme uygulamalarındaki sorunlar hem niceliksel hem de niteliksel açılardan açıklanmaya ve bir takım öneriler sunulmaya çalışılmıştır.
