Abstract
Red pepper is one of the most important spices by having pungency and stimulant effects on flavor. In this paper, red pepper has been investigated from the point of effects on health in our country and also other countries as a spice for the centuries. Kırmızı biber, acı ve uyarıcı etkisi nedeniyle baharatlar içinde önemli bir yer alır. Bu çalışmada yüzyıllardır baharat olarak birçok ülkede ve ülkemizde tüketilen kırmızı biberin sağlık üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Diğer taraftan medyada geniş bir şekilde yer alan zayıflatıcı etkisine de değinilecektir
