SCALE DEVELOPMENT FOR THE EFFECTS OF HEDONISM IN FOOD SECTOR

Abstract

In recent years, it is known that the effect of hedonism is high, especially in consumer behavior. Hedonism is a philosophy of life based on pleasure and happiness rather than utility and tangible achievements. In this study, it was aimed to develop a scale that determines the effect of hedonism on eating behavior. The 70-item draft scale, which includes different dimensions of the effect of hedonism in the food sector, was applied to 1000 consumers between August and December 2019. Consumers in the research were selected by convenience sampling method. As a result of the analysis of the findings obtained from 1000 data, it was understood that the scale consisted of 10 dimensions. For the validity of the scale, the correlation between the dimensions was examined and it was understood that the data obtained were in accordance with the literature. In addition, as a result of the analysis for the reliability of the scale, the least Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient was found 0.924.

Son yıllarda özellikle tüketici davranıĢlarında hedonizmin etkisinin yüksek olduğu bilinmektedir. Hedonizm, fayda ve somut edinimlerden ziyade zevk ve mutluluğu temel alan bir yaĢam felsefesidir. Bu çalıĢmada da hedonizmin yemek yeme davranıĢı üzerindeki etkisini saptayan bir ölçek geliĢtirmek amaçlanmıĢtır. Yemek sektöründe hedonizm etkisinin farklı boyutlarını içeren 70 maddelik taslak ölçek, Ağustos-Aralık 2019 tarihleri arasında 1000 tüketiciye uygulanmıĢtır. AraĢtırmaya katılan tüketiciler kolayda örneklem metodu ile seçilmiĢtir. 1000 veriden elde edilen bulguların analizi sonucunda, ölçeğin 10 boyuttan oluĢtuğu anlaĢılmıĢtır. Ölçeğin geçerliği için boyutlar arasındaki korelasyon incelenmiĢ ve elde edilen verilerin literatüre uygun olduğu anlaĢılmıĢtır. Ayrıca ölçeğin güvenirliği için yapılan analiz sonucunda Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı en düĢük 0,924 çıkmıĢtır.
