Abstract
The Book of Dede Korkut is considered as the most prominent work of theTurkish philology by domestic and foreign researchers. There are 12 epicstories each called boy (tribe) in the work. The epic stories containessentially information about the life, belief, fights and history of OghuzTurks.The Book of Dede Korkut is of great value with the abundant words,idioms, quotes, proverbs, prayers, curses, compliments, swearwords,satires included. The Book of Dede Korkut has created resource to identifyplenty of words and phrases, that is unknown and of little us today.This essay explains the origin and structure of vocatives bo , bu ,abo , abuthat is put forward different ideas about the origin andstructure up to today with reference to the word boy (tribe) that is availablein The Book of Dede Korkut and used as an vocative item.
Özet
Dede Korkut Kitabı, yerli ve yabancı araştırmacılar tarafından Türk dilive edebiyatının en seçkin eseri olarak kabul edilmektedir. Eserde her birineboy denilen 12 destansı hikâye bulunmaktadır. Söz konusu destansıhikâyelerde esas itibarıyla Oğuz Türklerinin yaşayış ve inanışına,mücadelelerine ve geçmişine dair bilgiler yer almaktadır.Dede Korkut Kitabı, bünyesinde barındırdığı zengin sözcükler, deyimler,vecizeler, atasözleri, alkışlar (dualar), kargışlar (beddualar), övgüler,sövgüler, yergiler ile de ayrı bir değer taşır. Dede Korkut Kitabı bugünbilinmeyen, kullanım sıklığı az olan pek çok sözcüğün ve sözcük öbeğinintanıklanmasına da kaynak oluşturmuştur. Bu makalede Dede Korkut Kitabında geçen ve seslenme ögesi olarakkullanılan boy sözcüğünden hareketle bugüne kadar kökeni ve yapısıhakkında farklı görüşler ileri sürülen bo , bu , abo , abu seslenmelerinin kökeni ve yapısı açıklanmaya çalışılmaktadır.
