Abstract
Pachyonychia congenita is an ectodermal displasia with autosomal dominant inheritance, of which the most frequent form, Type I (Jadassohn-Lewandowsky syndrome) is characterized by subungual and palmoplanter hyperkeratosis, oral leukokeratosis and follicular keratosis. A 19-year-old man is presented in order to stress the importance of pachyonychia congenita in the differential diagnosis of subungual and palmoplanter hyperkeratosis in patients vvithout family history.
