Hermeneutic Text Reading in Approach of Understanding and Interpreting Architecture-City (Analysis of the Novel A Strangeness in My Mind)

Mimariyi-Kenti Anlama ve Yorumlama Yaklaşımında Hermenötik Metin Okuma (Kafamda Bir Tuhaflık Romanının İrdelenmesi)

Abstract

The study which is based on the reality that architecture has strong and important bonds with other disciplines analyzes the interaction between architecture, literature and philosophy through city and space which are the common study field of three disciplines. According to this relation, in the study it was focused on the interaction of architecture discipline with hermeneutic text reading. The aim of study is to analyze the potential of architecture discipline with literature through house, shanty, apartment, urban memory and nostalgia terms in the context of urban transformation. In this sense, the main objects of discussion are different perspectives of individual towards living place and urban transformation. The hermeneutic reading was done over A Strangeness in My Mind by Orhan Pamuk. The necessity of size put forward in contextual frame in order to form integrity with the space, the city; the absence of belonging in case of sub-expansions of these sizes, problem of adoption and longing were analyzed over the book through hermeneutic reading.

Özet

Mimarlığın diğer disiplinlerle güçlü ve önemli bağları olduğu gerçeğine dayanan çalışma; mimarlık, edebiyat ve felsefe arasındaki etkileşimi, her üç disiplinin ortak çalışma alanı olan kent ve mekan üzerinden irdelemiştir. Bu ilişki doğrultusunda çalışmada mimarlık disiplininin hermenötik metin okuma ile etkileşimine odaklanılmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, mimarlık disiplininin edebiyatla kurduğu bu ilişkideki potansiyelini kentsel dönüşüm bağlamında; ev, gecekondu, apartman, kentsel hafıza ve nostalji kavramları üzerinden irdelenmesi şeklindedir. Bu kapsamda, bireyin yaşama mekanı ile kentsel değişim olgularına karşı kazandığı farklı bakış açıları tartışmanın asıl nesnelerini oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada hermenötik okuma, Orhan Pamuk'un Kafamda Bir Tuhaflık kitabı üzerinden yapılmıştır. Mekanla, kentle bütünleşme oluşması için kavramsal çerçevede ortaya konan boyutların gerekliliği ile bu boyutların alt açılımlarının eksikliği halinde aidiyetin oluşamaması durumu, benimseme sorunu ve özlem, kitap üzerinden hermenötik okuma yapılarak irdelenmeye çalışılmıştır.
