The Importance of Writing and Typography as a Curriculum in the Departments of Fine Arts Education

Özet

Yazı kavramı ve yazının tasarlanması sonucu ortaya çıkan tipografi kavramları ülkemizde tarihsel süreç olarak 2 boyutta ele alınabilir. Bu boyutlardan birincisi Türklerin İslamiyet'i kabulü ve Osmanlı İmparatorluğu (600 yılı kapsayan bir süreç), ikincisi ise Cumhuriyetin ilanıyla birlikte 600 yıllık bir geleneğin değişerek yeni Latin alfabesine (abc) geçiş sürecimizdir. Cumhuriyetin ilanı ve batıyla olan ilişkilerimiz kapsamında; bilimsel aydınlanma sürecine olan yakınlık, algılama ve öğrenme sürecine olan kolaylığı nedeniyle Latin alfabesi, Atatürk'ün yeni kurulan cumhuriyete kazandırdığı önemli edinimlerden bir tanesidir. Kısacası iletişimi kapsayan bütün alanlarda yeni Türk abc 'si kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Yukarıda belirtilen nedenlerden ötürü, yeni alfabenin kabulü ve yerleşmesi kolay olmamakla birlikte, uzun bir süreç gerektirmektedir. Bu nedenle yazı ile tipografi alanında yetkin, donanımlı tasarımcı ve öğretmenlerin yetişmesi çok uzun bir zaman dilimini kapsayacaktır. Bu konuda en önemli görev eğitim kurumlarına ve en başta da üniversitelerin güzel sanatlar fakülteleri ile eğitim fakülteleri bünyesinde yapılandırılan güzel sanatlar eğitimi bölümü resim-iş eğitimi anabilim dallarına düşmektedir. Özellikle resim-iş eğitimi anabilim dalları öğretmen yetiştirmekteki önceliği ve bu öğretmenlerin ülkenin dört bir yanında eğitim kurumlarında görev alması nedeniyle daha bir önem kazanmaktadır.

Abstract

The writing concept, and typography concept that results from the design of the writing, can be investigated in two phases of historical period. The first phase is the period between the acceptance of Islamism by Turks and the demolition of the Ottoman Empire (about 600 years), and the second one is the adoption period of the new Latin Alphabet (abc) by changing a convention of 600 years after the proclamation of the Republic. In the aspect of the proclamation of the Republic and the relations with contemporary countries; the Latin Alphabet is one of the most important innovations introduced to just founded-Republic by Atatürk because of its facilities in the processes of the scientific education, perception and enlightenment. Briefly, the new Turkish abc has been started to be used in all fields including the communication. Because of the reasons mentioned above, The adoption and widespread usage of the new alphabet have not been easy, and so, have necessitated a long period. For this reason, it will take a long time to educate talented and qualified designers and teachers in the field of writing and typography. In order to achieve this, at first the Faculties of Fine Arts and the Painting Education Area of the Department of Fine Arts Education constituted in the body of the Faculties of Education, and.also the Education Institutions have the most important responsibility. At this context, especially, the Area of Painting Education takes much more importance because of that the teachers educated in this area work in all education institutions of the whole country and this area has a precedence in the education of teachers.
