Özet

Bu çalışmada, ilköğretim 8. Sınıf öğrencilerinin genetik ve biyoteknoloji konularına ilişkin kavram yanılgılarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaçla, Fen Bilgisi Dersi’nin Genetik Ünitesi’nde geçen genetik ve biyoteknoloji konularıyla ilgili olası kavram yanılgılarını belirlemek üzere araştırma grubuna “kavram yanılgıları testi” uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulguların analizi sonucunda, öğrencilerin çoğunluğunda bazı kavramlara ilişkin olarak kavram yanılgılarının bulunduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Buradan hareketle, ilgili kavramların öğrenciler tarafından yeterli ve doğru şekilde anlaşılabilmesi için öneriler getirilmektedir.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the misconceptions of primary 8th grade students concerning genetics and biotechnology. For this purpose, “misconceptions test” was applied to the study group to determine misconceptions dealing genetics and biotechnology, which were in the “genetics-unity” of the science lesson. The analyses of data showed that the majority of students have misconceptions concerning same concepts. Of this front was to bring some suggestions for the students to understand the concepts sufficiently and correctly.
