The View of Students on Studying (A Sample of Elementary School 5th Grade Students)

Ders Çalışmaya İlişkin Öğrenci Görüşleri (İlköğretim 5. Sınıf Örneği)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the views of 5th grade elementary school students about studying. The application of this research which was carried out on the basis of survey method was conducted in Çankaya in Ankara. 5tn grade students (N=447) randomly selected from 6 elementary schools constitute the subject of the research. The percentage of the students according to their sex is 48% girls (n=215), and 52% boys (n=232). The students were asked the following open ended questions during the research: "Why do you like or don't you like studying?, What might happen if you don't study?, Which techniques do you use while studying?, How can you make studying more enjoyable?, and If you were a parent or a teacher how would you encourage your children to study?" The answers of the students were categorized and their distributions of frequency were done.

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ders çalışmaya ilişkin görüşlerini tespit etmektir. Genel tarama modeline dayalı olarak yürütülen bu araştırmanın uygulamaları Ankara ili Çankaya ilçesinde yapılmıştır, tesadüfi olarak seçilen 6 ilköğretim okulundaki 447 beşinci sınıf öğrencisi araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin cinsiyete göre dağılımı %48 (n=215) kız, %52 (n=232) erkek biçimindedir. Araştırma kapsamında öğrencilere "ders çalışmayı niçin sevdikleri ya da sevmedikleri, ders çalışmazsa neler olabileceği, ders çalışırken hangi yöntemleri kullandıkları, ders çalışmanın nasıl zevkli hale getirilebileceği ve anne- baba ya da öğretmen olsalardı çocukları nasıl ders çalışmaya sevk edebilecekleri" açık uçlu olarak sorulmuş, öğrencilerin sorulara verdikleri cevaplar gruplandırılarak frekans dağılımları yapılmıştır.
