Abstract
In this study, we are aiming to develop a new achievement test to measure the benefits of humans andthe environment unit studied with the extracurricular Nature Education Activities (NEA). Ourpopulation are the 310 students living near the Tire town of Izmir province and receiving 8th grade oftheir intermediate education which took the lesson we mentioned before in the previous educationalyear. The Environmental Knowledge Test (EKT) that developed by ourselves is used to gather theresearch data. Classical Test Theory is used to show the construct validity of the EnvironmentalKnowledge Test (EKT) by doing item and test analyses. Excel 2013 computer program was used tocalculate the difficulty and discrimination index of the items according to Classical Test Theory. KR-‐‑20(=0, 78) and KR-‐‑21 (=0,73) Reliability Coefficient were used to estimate the reliability of theEnvironmental Knowledge Test (EKT). In conclusion of all these analyses we decided that the 20questions Environmental Knowledge Test (EKT) we developed ourselves can be used for 7th gradestudents.
