The Use of Waste Objects in Art Education

Abstract

Waste object that is known as useless part of the used substance has an important role in today'sworld. Factors such as the changes in the current period, the rapid depletion of natural resources andthe requirement of additional resources has increased this object's prominence. Since 20th century,waste object ın many areas from industry to everyday life used has been used in the arts. This objectthat firstly was used in art movement of Cubism has been used in the formal education after a certaintime. Because children produce new things by using waste objects, are in creativity effort with usingthem and are awareness about waste objects and the concept of recycle with using them, applicationscreated with the waste objects in art education that develops the creativity feature are so muchimportant for children. In this study we has emphasized the waste object as art object, the position ofwaste object in art education and the importance of waste object for the individual and society. Theaim of this study is to examined effects and benefits of using waste objects in art education forchildren. The research is theoretical, domestic and foreign sources have been scanned, findings havebeen reviewed.

Bir maddenin kullanıldıktan sonra işe yaramayan kısmı olarak bilinen atık, günümüz dünyasında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Çağın getirileri, doğal kaynakların hızla tüketilmesi, ek kaynak ihtiyacının doğması gibi unsurlar bu nesnenin ön plana çıkmasına neden olmuştur. Sanayiden gündelik hayata kadar birçok alanda kullanılan atık nesne 20. yüzyıl itibariyle ise sanat alanında da kullanılmaya başlamıştır. İlk olarak kübizm sanat akımı ile kullanılan bu nesne zamanla eğitim programlarında da yer bulmuştur. Yaratıcılık özelliğinin geliştiği ders olan sanat eğitimi kapsamında bu nesne ile oluşturulan uygulamalar çocuğun bu objelerle ilişki içine girmesi, bunları kullanarak yeni bir şeyler üretmesi ve sonuç olarak bunlarla ilgili farkındalığın artması bakımından önemli bir yerde durmaktadır. Bu çalışmada sanat nesnesi olarak atık nesne, atık nesnenin sanat eğitimindeki yeri ve bunun birey ve toplum için önemi üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmanın amacı atık nesnenin sanat eğitimi ile kullanılmasının çocuklar üzerinde oluşturduğu etkileri ve kazanımları incelemektir. Araştırma kuramsal olup, yerli ve yabancı kaynaklar taranmış, elde edilen bulgular yorumlanmıştır.
