The Interaction between supportive organizational culture and psychological capital: The Mediating role of locus of control

Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to explore the direct and indirect effects ofpersonality factor as locus of control and contextual factor as supportiveorganizational culture on the organizational psychological capital, which isconsidered a significant resource for achieving and sustaining the competitiveadvantage for the organizations. The data were collected from 211 employees ofa large scale company with using survey method. The survey consists ofPsychological Capital Scale, Supportive Organizational Culture Scale and Locusof Control Scale. We used structural equation modeling to assess theinterrelations between variables. Results indicate that besides the direct effects ofsupportive organizational culture and locus of control on the psychologicalcapital, the mediator effects of the locus of control influencing the relationsbetween supportive organizational culture and psychological capital were alsoexplored. The findings were discussed with the results of the previous studiesand offered suggestions for the future researches
Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı örgütlerin rekabet avantajını elde etmesi vesürdürmesinde önemli bir kaynak olan psikolojik sermayeye etki edendestekleyici örgüt kültürü ve kontrol odağının doğrudan ve dolaylı etkilerininortaya çıkarılmasıdır. Araştırma anket yöntemiyle, büyük ölçekli bir firmanın211 çalışanından, Psikolojik Sermaye Ölçeği, Destekleyici Örgüt Kültürü Ölçeğive Kontrol Odağı Ölçeği ile toplanan verilerin Yapısal Eşitlik Modelikullanılarak analiziyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar örgütselpsikolojik sermayenin açıklanmasında; ortamsal bir faktör olan destekleyiciörgüt kültürü ile kişisel bir faktör olan kontrol odağının doğrudan etkilerininyanında, özellikle destekleyici örgüt kültürü ile psikolojik sermaye ilişkisinekontrol odağının aracılık ettiği dolaylı etkilerin de olduğunu göstermiştir.Bulgular yazında elde edilen sonuçlarla birlikte tartışılmış ve gelecektekiçalışmalara öneriler sunulmuştur.
