Analysing the factors affecting the user acceptance of information systems from the UTAUT perspective

Abstract

The innovations in information technologies and information systems (IS)also influence the businesses. The firms which need to accommodate these rapiddevelopments try to accord their business processes with these systems byenduring high costs and risks. In this stage, one of the most important problemsis the acceptance and the use of information systems by users. The main purposeof this study is to analyze the variables which affect the acceptance and use ofinformation systems such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, socialinfluence and facilitating conditions. The proposed research model is built on thebasis of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The study is conducted with 298 IS users working in 10 aviation manufacturingcompanies located in Ankara and in Eskisehir.

Özet

Bilgi teknolojilerinde ve bilgi sistemlerindeki yenilikler işletmeleri de etkisialtına almıştır. Hızlı gelişmeye uyum sağlamak zorunda olan işletmeler, büyükmaliyetler ve risklere katlanarak bu sistemleri iş süreçlerine uyumlaştırmayaçalışmaktadır. Bu aşamada karşılaşılan en önemli sorunlardan biri, kullanıcılarınbu sistemleri benimseme ve kabulüdür. Bu çalışmanın amacı, işletmelerdeki bilgisistemleri kullanıcılarının mevcut bilgi sistemlerini kullanma ve kabulünüetkileyen performans beklentisi, çaba beklentisi, sosyal etki ve kolaylaştırıcışartlar değişkenlerini incelemektir. Önerilen araştırma modeli Birleştirilmiş Teknoloji Kabulü ve Kullanımı Teorisine (UTAUT) dayandırılarakoluşturulmuştur. Çalışma, Eskişehir ve Ankaradaki havacılık imalat sektöründefaaliyet gösteren toplam 10 işletmedeki 298 bilgi sistemi kullanıcısı ileyürütülmüştür.
