Abstract

The study has been conducted to examine the relation between the communication skills of the parents with pre-school children and the social skills and problem behaviours of their children.,it is used to investigate whether there is a relationship between parents' communication skills and their children's social skills and problem behaviors in this research. The participants of the study consists of children of 48-72 months attending to the nursery classes, independent kindergartens and private kindergartens of the official primary schools in the central districts of Aziziye, Palandöken and Yakutiye of the Erzurum Province in the academic year of 2015-2016. The sample of the study consists of 577 children and their parents who were chosen by the random cluster sampling method. The study used the “General Knowledge Form” the “Preschool and Kindergarden Behaviour Scala (PKBS–2”), and the “Parent-Child Communication Evaluation Tool”. As a result of the study; It was determined that the communication skills of the parents varied according to the variables of mother-parent variable, education status of the mother, education status of the father (p0.05). A positive and significant relation was found between the scores of the children from the total of the “Social Skill Scale” and the scores of their parents from the subdimension of the “Parent Child Communication Evaluation Tool” namely Speaking , Listening, Non-verbal Communicatio , Empathy and Message. Araştırma okul öncesi dönem çocuğu olan ebeveynlerin iletişim becerileri ile çocuklarının sosyal becerileri ve problem davranışları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada ebeveynlerin iletişim becerileri ile çocuklarının sosyal beceri ve problem davranışları arasında ilişki olup olmadığına bakılacağından “İlişkisel Tarama Modeli” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2015-2016 Eğitim Öğretim yılında Erzurum ilinin Aziziye, Palandöken ve Yakutiye merkez ilçelerinde bulunan resmi ilköğretim okullarının anasınıfları, bağımsız anaokulları, özel ilköğretim okullarının anasınıfları ve özel anaokullarına devam eden 48-72 aylık çocuklar ve aileleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini evrenden tesadüfi küme örnekleme formülü kullanılarak belirlenmiş 577 çocuk ve ebeveynleri oluşturmaktadır.
