Health Services in the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878

Abstract

The provision and subsistence of Asakir-i Mansûre-i Muhammediyye ,which had superseded the Janissaries, became significant problem for the Ottoman Empire whole of the XIXth century. Especially, the failure of provision in Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878 played a major role in loosing the war. In this work, the solution policy that Ottoman Empire adopted against the trouble related to supply of health service beyond and in the front-line of Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878 which pushed the Ottoman Empire into disintegration process.

Özet

Yeniçeri Ocağı'nın kaldırılmasıyla yerine kurulan Asakir-i Mansûre-i Muhammediyye Ordusunun savaş sırasında ikmal ve iaşesinin temini, XIX. yüzyıl boyunca Osmanlı Devleti için önemli bir sorun olmuştur. Bilhassa 1877-1878 Osmanlı-Rus Savaşı sırasında ikmal ve iaşe temininde görülen aksaklıklar, savaşın kaybedilmesinde önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı Devleti'ni çözülme sürecine iten 1877-1878 OsmanlıRus Savaşı'nda cephede ve cephe gerisindeki sağlık hizmetlerinin ikmali hususunda karşılaşılan sorunlar ve Osmanlı Devleti'nin bu sorunlar karşısında nasıl bir çözüm politikası izlediği ele alınmıştır.
