Effect of parental age on laying performance and hatchability of rock partridges (A. graeca)

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of parental age of partridges on laying performance and hatchability. Totally 64 female and 32 male age of 84 week and 64 female and 32 male age of 32 week rock partridges were used in the study. Partridges were divided into 4 groups. These groups were young ♂x young♀, young ♂x old♀, old ♂x young♀, old ♂x young♀ groups according to their parental age. Laying performance and rate of young ♂x young♀, young ♂x old♀, old ♂x young♀, old ♂x young♀ groups of the partridges were found as 30.59, 30.50, 31.50 and 30.28 and 43.09 %, 42.96 %, 44.37 % and 42.65 %, respectively, for 70 days period. Egg weights of groups were determined as 20.96, 21.13, 21.16 and 21.23 g, respectively. Apparent fertility, hatchability of total eggs and fertile eggs of Young male x Young female, Young male x Old female, Old male x Young female, Old male x Old female groups were found as 91.73 %, 81.53 %, 92.22 % ve 82.62 %; 70.66 %, 63.85 %, 70.98 % and 63.78 % and 76.99 %, 78.78 %, 76.70 % and 77.52%, respectively. Groups of young females were found apparent fertility and hatchability of total eggs higher than groups of old females. The differences among groups for hatchability of fertile eggs were not found significant. Early and middle embryonic mortality for groups were significant, late and general embryonic mortality for different groups were same found significant. As a result, age of female had a significant than age of male on hatching performance. Young female of partridges might used for breeding material.

Bu çalışmada, kekliklerin yumurta verimi, döl verimi ve kuluçka özellikleri üzerine farklı yaşların etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada, 84 haftalık yaştaki 64 adet dişi ve 32 adet erkek ve 32 haftalık yaştaki 64 adet dişi ve 32 adet erkek Kaya keklikleri Genç♂x Genç♀, Genç♂x Yaşlı♀, Yaşlı♂x Genç♀, Yaşlı♂x Yaşlı♀ olacak şekilde bir deneme düzeni oluşturulmuştur. Genç♂x Genç♀, Genç♂x Yaşlı♀, Yaşlı♂x Genç♀, Yaşlı♂x Yaşlı♀gruplarda 70 gün sürdürülen deneme süresince elde edilen yumurta verimi ve oranı sırasıyla; 30.59, 30.50, 31.50 ve 30.28 adet, % 43.09, 42.96, 44.37 ve 42.65 olarak belirlenmiştir. Yumurta ağırlıkları aynı sırayla 20.96, 21.13, 21.16 ve 21.23 g bulunmuştur. Genç x Genç, Genç x Yaşlı, Yaşlı x Genç ve Yaşlı x Yaşlı gruplarda döllülük oranı, kuluçka randımanı ve çıkım gücü değerleri sırasıyla; % 91.73, 81.53, 92.22 ve 82.62; % 70.66, 63.85, 70.98 ve 63.78 ve % 76.99, 78.78, 76.70 ve 77.52 olarak tespit edilmiştir.
