The example of Kavalcık village the custom of choosing a name and naming in Alevism

Abstract

The custom of naming which has developed as a context of choosing a name and naming are the most important legends that shows the mentality which impels and coordinates the thoughts of people and the group .The naming custom in Alevi societies gives us important data which will help us to understand what Alevism means. Conducting of these settings ,first it was cognosced , the litereture of Alevism set in last 25-30 years caused a variety in Alevism descriptions , concepts complexity and confusions in mind. Later,naming was a result of societies'mental and social processes,Naming Custom in Alevism is different from the ones in Muslim customs that is also Alevis has interactions,old Turks,even the Bektasies that is accepted the closest sytem to Alevism were brought up based on observations in the field and the datas got from the oral interviews.lt was arrived at a conclusion that Alevism Religion set the Choosing a name and naming Custom in Alevi Societies. And it showed Alevism is a Relief System and Alevis are Belief Societies despite this modernisation period and break in naming custom.

Çocuğa isim seçme ve ad koyma bağlamında geliştirilen ad koyma geleneği, bir topluluktaki fertlerin ve grubun düşüncesini sevk ve idare eden zihniyeti yansıtan en önemli göstergelerdir. Alevi topluluklardaki ad koyma geleneği de, Aleviliğin ne olduğunun anlaşılmasını sağlayacak nitelikte önemli veriler sunmaktadır. Bu tespitlerden hareketle önce, son 25-30 yılda ortaya çıkan Alevi literatürün, Alevilik konusunda tanım çeşitliliğine, kavram kargaşasına ve kafa karışıklığına neden olduğu saptandı. Daha sonra, genel olarak ad koyma geleneğinin toplulukların zihinsel ve sosyal süreçlerinin bir sonucu olduğu, Alevi topluluklardaki ad koyma geleneğinin, Aleviliğin etkileşimde bulunduğu Müslüman gelenekten, eski Türklerden, hatta en yakın sistem olarak kabul edilen Bektaşilerden farklı olduğu, sahada yapılan gözlem ve görüşme yoluyla elde edilen verilere dayandırılarak ortaya kondu. Alevi topluluklarda çocuğa isim seçmeyi ve ad koyma geleneğini Alevilik inancının belirlediği sonucuna varıldı. Bu da, modernleşme sürecinde Alevi toplulukların ad koyma geleneklerinde bir kırılma yaşamasına rağmen, Aleviliğin bir inanç sistemi, Alevilerin de inanç toplulukları olduklarını gösterdi.
