An examination of the attitudes of students and professors at early childhood education programs regarding drama courses at the preschool level

Özet

Bu araştırma, okul öncesi eğitimde drama dersi alan okul öncesi eğitim öğretmenliğiprogramına devam eden öğrencilerin ve dersi veren öğretim eleman larının okul öncesieğitimde dramaya karşı tutumlarını incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanınörneklemini Ankara‟da bu lunan üniversitelerin eğitim fakültelerindeki okul öncesi eğitimiöğretmenliği programına devam eden okul öncesi eğitimde drama dersi almış olanöğrencilerden tesadüfü örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 50 öğrenci ve okul öncesieğitimde drama dersini veren 10 öğretim eleman ı oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veritoplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen ve geçe rlilik-güvenilirlikçalışması yapılmış olanOkul Öncesi Eğitimde Drama ya Yönelik TutumlarıDeğerlendirme Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ö ğretim elemanlarının ve öğrencilerin okul öncesieğitimde dramaya yönelik tutumları arasında fark olup olmadığı Mann -Whitneu U testiile bakılmıştır . Araştırma sonucunda, okul öncesi eğitimde drama dersi alan öğrencilerinve öğretim eleman larının eğitimde dramaya yönelik tutumları arasında fark bulunmuştur.

Abstract

This research was carried out in order to analyze by using certain variables the attitudes ofpre-school teaching department students who have taken drama course towards thiscourse. The research sample is composed of 50 students who have taken the d rama coursefor pre -school teaching as part of their university education. They were selected on arandom basis from students attending the pre-school teaching department in the educationfaculties of universities in Ankara. In addition 10 instructors running drama courses inpre-school education classes formed part of the sample. Data was collected using the Evaluation Scale for Attitudes towards Drama in Pre -School Education developed byresearchers, and considered sound in terms of validity reliability. The Mann -WhitneyU test was used to see if there was any difference between the attitudes of instructors and students towards drama in education. Finally the differences in attitudes betweeninstructors and students towards drama in education were recorded.
