Özet

Bu araştırmada, beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin üstbilişsel okuduğunu anlama farkındalığı ileokuma motivasyonları incelenmiş ve okuma düzeyleri ile ilişkisi tespit edilmiştir.Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu toplam 600 beşinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin cinsiyetleri ile üstbilişselokuduğunu anlama farkındalığı ve o kuma motivasyonu puanları arasında anlamlı farklılıkbulunmaktadır. Okuma düzeylerine göre üstbilişsel okuduğunu anlama farkındalığı ileokuma motivasyonunda genel olarak bağımsız okuyucu düzeyinin en yüksek ortalamayasahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Okuma düzeyleri ile üstbilişsel okuduğunu anlamafarkındalığı arasında orta, okuma motivasyonu alt boyutları arasında düşük düzeyde ilişkiolduğu görülmektedir.

Abstract

In this research, the metacognitive reading comprehension awareness of 5th grade students andtheir reading motivation investigated and the relationship between the levels of readingidentified. The study group is a total of 600 fifth grade students . As a result of this research,a significant difference between the variables with regard to gender of students, and theirmetacognitive awareness of reading comprehension and reading motivation grades. When thereading levels are concerned, the level of independent reader has been assessed as having theh ighest medium in relation with the metacognitive awareness of reading comprehension andreading motivation. It determined that there is an average relationship between the readinglevels and the metacognitive awareness of reading comprehension. In addition , a low level ofrelationship between reading motivation and its sub -dimensions has been assessed.
