Abstract

People live together in communities and they need certain values in order to continue their togetherness in a healthy manner. For this reason, the level of achieving these values for our children, who are the basis of the future of a society, is extremely important from this point of view. However, does being a woman or man, which is a natural classification and the most natural category in the universe, make a difference in achieving these values? This study has been designed in Non-Experimental Quantitative Method and was conducted to find an answer for this question. 306 secondary school students who were attending 7th Grade in their schools were included in it. According to the study results, it has been concluded that female students have reached the upper levels in values like being respectful, helpful, cooperating, having responsibilities, and protecting the environment when compared with the male students. On the other hand, no differences were determined between the female and male students in terms of beinghardworking, being more scientific and aesthetical; gender has no influence inthis context. Studies in the qualitative model may be conducted to understand the reasons of the differences better and produce solutions.
