STEM ve Yaratıcı Drama

Özet

İçinde bulunduğumuz yüzyılın ihtiyaç duyduğu insan; problemi tanımlayan, problemi çözen, eleştirel düşünceye sahip, yaratıcı, yenliklere açık, üretken ve işbirliği yapabilen sorumluluk sahibi bireylerdir. Çağın gereklilikleri eğitime de yansımaktadır. Eğitim sistemleri de buna uygun olarak değişmekte ve gelişmekte, böylece yeni eğitim sistemleri de gündeme gelmektedir. Bunlardan birisi de STEM'dir. STEM ingilizce Science (Fen), Technology (Teknoloji), Engineering (Mühendislik), Mathematics (Matematik) kelimelerinin baş harflerinden oluşan bir kısaltmadır. STEM eğitimi, fen ve matematik alanlarını temel alan teknoloji ve mühendisliğin sağladığı uygulama olanakları ile bütünleştirilerek öğretilmesini içeren ve okul öncesinden yükseköğretime kadar tüm seviyeleri kapsayan bir eğitim yaklaşımıdır. Bu çalışmada yaratıcı drama yöntemi tanıtılıp STEM eğitim sürecinde de uygulanabilirliği üzerinde durulmuştur. STEM in amaçları arasında bulunan problem çözme, problem kurabilme, probleme farklı açılardan yaklaşma, matematiksel düşünme becerilerini geliştirme, yaratıcı dramanın kazanımları ile uyuşmaktadır. Buradan yola çıkarak disiplinler arası bir çalışma olan yaratıcı dramanın, bütünleşik bir öğrenme olan STEM eğitimi için öğrenme ortamını zenginleştiren etkili bir öğretim yöntemi olduğu söylenebilir

Abstract

t is emphasizedin the new curriculum that the student should be an activeparticipant in the learning process. One of the ways that students can participate in this process is the creative drama.Creative drama is a learning process that is gainedby doing and living. The main elements of creative drama are; Drama leader, drama group, materials and animation. The stages of creative drama can be listedas warm-up preparation, animation, and evaluation-discussion-sharing.Creativedramashouldbeanactivitythatisdesignedundercontrolandguidedby experienced people toensure that the experience of the child's life through games is accurate and on the spot. Even if the drama is not to entertain the primarilyaimed children, the child will have fun and be happy during the drama event. It improves imagination. It contributes to the development of the child's critical thinking ability. Thus, the children pass events, facts, and concepts through a logic filter and tries to be a researcher without accepting everything that is presentedto him. Creative drama learns how to synthesize and analyze students' abstract events in concrete terms, establishing cause-effect relationships, learning and teaching different ways (Özsoy, 2010). Students who are engaged in solving the problem posed by drama unwittingly develop "mathematical thinking and reasoning skills" (Vural, 2012).Creative drama; Who are active in the learning process and who are involved in new approaches that help to bring up their ideas, encourage them to solve problems on their own or with groups, help to raise independent learners, It is an effective teaching method which includes many methods such as question-answer, exploration, and discussion (Soner, 2005).It is evident that the objectives of STEM are consistent with the achievements of problem solving, and mathematical thinking. From here, we can say that drama, interdisciplinarywork, is an effectiveteaching method that enriches the learning environment for STEM education as an integrated learning.
